New Years Eve

New Years Eve, December 31st.Well we have all gotten through another year, please make sure your here tomorrow as well. If your going to drink take a cab, stay were you're at, have a designated driver. Celebration is good for the soul but don't wake in the morning looking at a DUI and a boat load of fines. Play it safe and have a good one.

Now lets talk about food. Tomorrow we will be fixing the the southern standard of Smithfield ham, collards (for money), black-eyed peas (for luck), corn bread, iced tea and something sweet for dessert. If you're looking for a good website that represents the south, specifically low country cooking, I suggest www.chefrick.com. I have tried the Hoppin John recipe and it was excellent.
